Description
Any Indian festival or religious ceremony is simply incomplete without Sweet Boondi. Boondi or Bundi is tiny sweet round balls made with chickpea flour, turmeric (for color), and soaked into sugar syrup. This is considered to be favorite snack of Lord Hanuman and often offered as Prasad (In Hinduism, Prasad is devotional offering to god, later shared by devotees) in temples.
While it has a religious significance, it is also very popular in India, Sindh and Nepal as a sweet. Kids really love this as a snack and it pairs very well with Bikaneri Bhujia (A savory snack).
